This course offers a playful and practical introduction to character animation using 2D vector illustrations. Over four sessions, you’ll learn how to prepare your artwork in Adobe Illustrator and bring it to life using Adobe After Effects. Whether you’re curious about animation or want to expand your creative toolkit, this course is your gateway to injecting movement into your illustrations—especially character-based ones.
Through expert guidance, hands-on sessions, and peer feedback, participants will explore how to adapt static artwork into animated portraits while learning simple yet powerful animation techniques. Expect a warm and welcoming space to try things out, experiment, and grow.

Who is this course for?
- This course is ideal for illustrators with a focus on characters who are curious about animation. It’s designed for those eager to learn in a safe, fun, and encouraging space—perfect for experimenting, playing, and pushing creative boundaries. Basic Illustrator skills are required. Some experience in After Effects is helpful, but not necessary.
This course is taught in English.
What to bring:
- A laptop with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects installed.
- A mouse (strongly recommended for ease of use).

Teacher: Bee Grandinetti
Bee Grandinetti is a Brazilian animation director, designer, illustrator and educator based in Stockholm. Her vibrant and emotionally rich work reflects her journey from Belo Horizonte to London and now Sweden. Bee is the co-founder of Panimation, a community for women, trans and non-binary people in animation, and regularly teaches at schools such as Hyper Island and Berghs.
