Sektionen för grafisk form bjuder in Sofie Beier för att prata om hur ett typsnitts läsbarhet skiftar beroende på läsare, medie och sammanhang.
There is no such thing as the most legible typeface
”We often talk about typefaces as if some are simply more legible than others. But the demands change with the reading situation. A typeface for extended reading needs to work well over time, while text on a road sign or a screen in a car needs to be read quickly and often from a distance.
Readers are not all the same either. Age, vision and reading experience all matter.
Drawing on research in type design and legibility, this talk asks a more useful question than: Which typeface is the most legible? Instead: For whom, for what, and under what conditions?”
